Wie man jemandem mit einer Behinderung hilft, eine Gesichtsmaske zu tragen

Since the start of the pandemic, several countries have made wearing a face mask mandatory. However, there is a lack of clarity around exemption of face mask usage for persons with disabilities. This not only leaves disabled people vulnerable to the virus, but also prevents their caregivers or loved ones from finding a viable solution to protect their needs. At the same time, wearing a face mask may present a challenge for some people with disabilities who are, for example, individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities, including autistic people, people who cannot independently put on or take off a mask, people with lung diseases or breathing difficulties, people who experience panic attacks while wearing masks, and people who are Deaf and hard of hearing. Before you contemplate, as a caregiver or loved one of someone with a...

Ist es sicher, während des Trainings eine Gesichtsmaske zu tragen?

There’s a huge debate happening right now on whether it should be mandatory for joggers to wear masks while running or exercising. As gyms slowly reopen, while the threat of the coronavirus continues to loom, it’s down to a personal choice whether you want to exercise in a mask. Scientifically speaking, there is little to no risk while exercising with a mask for healthy individuals. A study conducted by the University of Saskatchewan (USask) concluded that exercise performance and blood and muscle oxygen levels are not affected for healthy individuals wearing a face mask during strenuous workouts.  However, there are two camps to this conversation with some experts recommending home workouts and socially distanced runs instead of masking up during exercises. This is especially recommended for people who are new to exercising or for those who thought...

Wie trägt man eine Gesichtsmaske mit Brille oder Bart?

Last year, face masks were as elusive as the Facebook algorithm for most of the countries around the world. Now we have reached a stage where face masks automatically fall under our mental checklist of things to take with you when you step out for work or simply for a walk or in a public setting. It may be uncomfortable to wear at the start, but once you are used to it, you often forget that there’s something on your face and end up touching your face out of habit (raise your hands if you are one of those people!) In light of this, wearing a face mask can often be an added challenge for people who wear glasses or have a beard or just like to smile and acknowledge a passersby.  We’ve got some hacks to...

Wie sollten Sie Ihren Kindern das Tragen von Gesichtsmasken erklären?

We have all been through a lot this past year. Things that were unusual to us pre-2020, have now become a norm for many people around the world. Wearing face masks is probably at the top of that list!    We know that wearing face masks not only allows us to breath filtered air, it also prevents the spread of germs. In our previous blog post, we talked about the various myths behind the use of face masks - one of which highlighted the importance of face masks for kids.   Wearing masks is an unusual experience for everyone, especially kids. Since kids are naturally curious, they may want to touch the mask when it is on their face or remove it because they are unfamiliar with it. Children need to be taught the proper use and safety of...

Mythen über Gesichtsmasken zerschlagen: 4 Mythen über die Verwendung von Gesichtsmasken

At the start of 2020, we entered an era of social isolation unlike any other in recent history. People were forced to lockdown in their homes and countries, which challenged our very way of living.  Face masks, until then, were only used in countries with high pollution rate. But in April 2020, all that changed and face masks were everywhere. Governments around the world advocated the use of face masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19. People who had never used masks before, were uncomfortable using it and as a result there has been a lot of misinformation about the use of face masks. As a company whose purpose is to provide clean and healthy air to everyone, we decided to take matters into our own hands, and debunk 4 myths surrounding the use of face masks. Myth...

Schluss mit dem Rätselraten bei Filtern – Wie funktioniert unser MEO HELIX Filter?

TAKING THE GUESSWORK OUT OF FILTERS - HOW DOES THE MEO HELIX FILTER WORK? Weather, like life, can sometimes be very unpredictable and uncertain. Just ask 1 News reporter Carolyn Robinson who went in search of good, sunny news for this year’s summer in New Zealand, but was instead greeted with predictions of a rainy and cloudy one. Donned in her MEO lite face mask, Carolyn tried to shoo away her blues with an ice-cream, only to realise that the mask was still on (something, we are all very guilty of!). Too many things in life are unpredictable and left up to chance, and that’s why we at MEO Air  believe in providing certainty and surety with our products.
